MANILA - A group of 370 Filipino crew members arrived Saturday from 3 cruise ships moored in COVID-19 hotbed Italy, the Department of Foreign Affairs said Sunday.
Among them were 248 crew members of MV Costa Luminosa docked in Milan, and 122 sailors of MV Grandiosa and MV Opera in Rome.
The Filipinos underwent medical check-up and did not show signs and symptoms for COVID-19 before boarding the government's charted flight.
All will undergo 14-day isolation in a facility monitored by the health department's Bureau of Quarantine.
Italy on Saturday added some 800 deaths to its coronavirus death toll, which has surged past 10,000.
The Philippines, meantime, has recorded 68 deaths and 35 recoveries out of its 1,075 cases, as of Saturday. --Report from Michael Delizo, ABS-CBN News
