ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Three grass owls were rescued during a grass fire last Saturday in Pueblo de Panay.
Several residents, firefighters and rescue volunteers saw the birds when they were trying to put out the grass fire on the afternoon of March 23.
They quickly picked up the birds and brought them to safety.
The Roxas City fire station coordinated with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the safekeeping of the owls.
The owls were then released to the reservation area.
