MANILA - The Sandiganbayan 6th Division has allowed Tawi-Tawi Rep. Ruby Sahali Tan to join the resumption of peace talks in the Netherlands.

In an open court on Monday, the Sandiganbayan granted Tan's motion to travel to Europe from April 1 to 20.

In her motion, Tan, chairperson of the House Committee on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, said she was invited by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process to join the resumption of peace negotiations with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) on April 2 to 6, 2017 in the Netherlands.

From there, she will proceed to Italy, the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland and France to visit Filipino communities from April 7 to 20.

Tan promised to return on or before April 21.

The lawmaker needed the Sandiganbayan's permission to travel abroad because of a standing hold departure order issued in connection with her breach of conduct cases.

Tan is accused of failing to file her Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) when she was Tawi-Tawi vice governor from 2008 to 2013.
