The Quezon City government late Wednesday confirmed 15 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the city, raising the total to 87.
The new cases were recorded in barangays Siena, Sto. Cristo, BL Crame, Culiat, Manresa, Matandang Balara, Ugong Norte, Kalusugan, San Isidro Galas, Valencia, and Tandang Sora.
The city government also recorded 3 new fatalities, bringing the total to 13, while the number of recoveries remain at 7.
In an effort to contain the virus, decontamination efforts are ongoing in different barangays, city officials said.
They have also distributed 470,000 food packs to indigent families across the city.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier placed the country under a state of public health emergency during the Luzon-wide community quarantine.
The health department has tallied a total of 636 cases of COVID-19 with 38 fatalities and 26 recoveries nationwide.-With reports from Jervis Manahan, ABS-CBN News
