Naic, Cavite mayor tests positive for COVID-19

MANILA--Mayor Junio Dualan of Naic town, Cavite on Tuesday said he tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Dualan made the announced on his municipality's official Facebook page.

"Ikinalulungkot ko pong ibalita na ang resulta ng swab testing na ginawa sa inyong lingkod noong March 18, 2020 ay 'positive'," he wrote.

According to Dualan, he went to a hospital to have himself checked. After undergoing several tests and procedures, his results came out "positive but in good condition."

He was then advised to go on strict home quarantine.

"Muli po hinihingi ko ang inyong pang unawa at dasal. Sana po ay ating sundin ang mga guidelines ng gobyerno ukol sa enhanced community quarantine dahil ito naman po ay para din sa inyo at para sa lahat," Dualan wrote.

Dualan did not mention how he got the disease.

As of Tuesday, Naic has three confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also 9 patients under investigation (PUI) and 151 patients under monitoring (PUM).
