A police officer and a civilian were injured in two separate explosions in North Upi, Maguindanao on Friday evening, police said.
The first explosion rocked an area near a school in Barangay Borongotan, wounding an unidentified civilian.
A resident informed the Upi Municipal Police Station regarding the explosion believed to be from a hand grenade thrown in the area.
But before authorities arrived at the scene, another explosion transpired in the same barangay.
The blast hit PO1 Marjun Lahaylahay, driver of a Mahindra patrol car.
The victims have been rushed to Datu Blah Hospital for treatment.
The police are conducting an investigation into the twin explosions.
Last Dec. 9, 2017, three explosions took place in North Upi Maguindanao, wherein 7 members of Philippine Marines and a policeman were wounded.
