CEBU CITY - A security guard was killed while 3 others were wounded after gunmen shot at the vehicle of a drug-tagged businessman on Archbishop Avenue here, police said Saturday.

A security guard identified as Wilson Bucay died, while George Lambatan, another guard, and German nationals Basbach Pauline and Goerrings Manual, sustained wounds following the attack before dawn Saturday.

The guards were manning a bar while the German nationals were just passing by when the shooting happened, police said.

"We were busy attending to our [bar] customers outside. All we heard was a series of gunshots. I was able to run but sadly Bucay did not," Lambatan said.

The prominent businessman, whose name police withheld, was inside the SUV at the time of the shooting but survived the hit.

Investigators have been trying to secure the SUV, now riddled with bullet holes, as part of their probe, but the owner refused to cooperate.
