Pagkarekober ng mga armas sa Taiwanese sa Makati, iimbestigahan ng Senado

MAYNILA - Inatasan ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri si Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa para magsagawa ng pagdinig higgil sa pagkakadakip sa Makati City sa isang Taiwanese na nag-iingat ng mga baril.

Sa gitna ng plenary session, sinabi ni Zubiri na kailangan nila itong siyasatin para malaman kung ito ay kaso ng gun running, gun for hire o baka terorismo.

Nakababahala aniya ito dahil undocumented ang Taiwanese na nagkaroon ng access sa maraming baril.

"I'm just very worried about the apprehension on 100 firearms in this condominium unit in Rockwell in Makati and high powered firearms. It could be anything such as gun running but can be as bad as terrorist cell so I think there might be some security concerns, national security concern in this particular issue," dagdag ni Zubiri.

Agad namang nangako si Dela Rosa na magpapatawag ng pagdinig bilang chairman ng Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs.

Una nang inireport ni Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. at ng Philippine National Police ang pagkakadakip noong Marso 20 sa isang undocumented Taiwanese na may sangkaterbang baril at mga bala.
