DAVAO CITY - Five schools in Davao City received new electrical laboratories or e.Labs, which will be used by senior high school students who take technical vocational courses.
The training facilities were donated by Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) and Aboitiz Foundation.
Jaime Jose Aboitiz, president of DLPC, said they implemented the project to support the Department of Education's technical vocational courses for the K to 12 curriculum.
"We have always been supportive when it comes to education as part of our CSR even in Luzon," Aboitiz said.
The beneficiaries of the e.Lab are Jesus J. Soriano National High School, F. Bangoy National High School, Pablo Lorenzo National High School, Tugbok National High School and Dacudao National High School.
Each e.Lab facility costs P550,000.
Alvin Fariolen, TechVoc instructor, said the facility will be a big help for students.
At least 11 e.Labs were earlier donated to different public high schools.
The power company is set to turnover 9 more e.Labs to 5 schools in Davao City and 4 in Davao del Norte for school year 2017-2018.
