MANILA - Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday received a painting from a member of the graduating Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Maragtas Class of 2018.

Robredo shared on social media photos of the artwork by Cadet Fourth Class Don Carlo Labastida of Davao City.

The painting featured Robredo's face and the seal of her office.

Its creator is a self-taught painter who belongs to the PNPA Council of Artists, the Office of the Vice President said in an e-mail.

Robredo and President Rodrigo Duterte attended the PNPA's 39th commencement exercises at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.

Before the rites, Robredo said she had a chance to talk with the top 20 of the 106-strong Maragtas Class.

She said the class valedictorian First Class Fritz John Vallador's mother, a domestic worker in Spain, did not make it to the event.
