House OKs budget reform bill on 3rd reading

MANILA - The House of Representatives has approved on third and final reading the budget reform bill, which has been certified as urgent by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The final vote came down to 158 voting for the bill, 8 voting against it, and 1 abstention. 

Duterte certified the bill as urgent, which allowed the House to vote on it on 2nd and 3rd reading on the same day.

The bill, which substituted 13 measures, states among others accountability and integrity in the use of public resources by ensuring transparency, fiscal responsibility, results-orientation, efficiency, and effectiveness.
