MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday joked to Vice President Leni Robredo that she was one of the topics in his roughly 13-hour meeting with Cabinet officials yesterday.
At the beginning of his speech during the 121st founding anniversary celebration of the Philippine Army, Duterte apologized for being late at the event, saying he slept late after a 13-hour meeting with the National Security Council Executive Committee that started at around 2 p.m.
“Natapos ho kami Ma’am ng three, ang pinag-usapan namin ikaw,” Duterte told Robredo, who was among the high-profile guests at the Philippine Army anniversary celebration in Taguig City.
It was the second time this week that Robredo and Duterte shared the same stage.
During last Sunday’s Philippine Military Academy graduation, Duterte told Robredo that they are friends.
Robredo was once part of the Duterte Cabinet, serving as housing czar. She, however, quit her post in December 2016 over policy differences with the President.
