MANILA - A 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental province Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tectonic tremor occurred at 11:13 a.m. some 384 kilometers southeast of Sarangani town. It had a depth of 117 kilometers.
State seismologists recorded another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 at 11:27 a.m. at a depth of 113 kilometers.
Instrumental intensity 1 was recorded in Alabel town in Sarangani province.
Phivolcs said the quake would not cause damage, but would generate aftershocks.
