CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - Police arrested a former drug surrenderer in Sitio Palalan, Barangay Lumbia in this city on Thursday after he was found in possession of firearms and suspected illegal drugs.

Armando Ali, 46, was searched by cops after receiving numerous complaints from his neighbors that he often threatened to use his firearms.

Even the suspect's mother filed a complaint due to the suspect's aggressive behavior, police said.

Upon searching, police recovered a caliber .357 revolver with ammunition, and 2 large sachets of suspected 'shabu' with an estimated street value of P50,000.

Ali was among the first batch of Tokhang surrenderers last July 2016.

Police Senior Inspector Dennis Ebsolo, station commander of Police Station 8 Lumbia, believes that Ali continued to sell drugs even after pledging to stop using and selling illegal drugs.

The suspect will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
