Manila Water releases its schedule of water interruptions for a large part of Metro Manila. Here are the stories making the headlines on ANC today:

Probing the water crisis 1

Water woes
Bayan Muna called for a probe into the water crisis. Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez said the water crisis should hasten the construction of the controversial Kaliwa dam located in Quezon and Rizal, which is funded with loans from China and opposed by residents and environmentalists. ANC’s "Early Edition" will have as guest hydrology expert Patricia Ann Sanchez. ANC’s "Headstart" will guest Patrick Ty of the MWSS regulatory office.

Battle royale over the budget
The bickering over the 2019 national budget continued even after President Duterte intervened. Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo called on both Houses to break the impasse over the P3.75 trillion budget. Senator Panfilo Lacson said House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo should be charged for signing a tweaked budget. Worse, economic managers lowered GDP targets due to the budget impasse.

Firing line
In his speech in Isabela Wednesday, President Duterte said he will be firing another set of officials on allegations of corruption. He also deplored the killing of a Cebu teenager.

Going negative
In the same speech, the President also went negative on the campaign again and hit the candidates of the opposition. The opposition is likely to react or hit back.
