MRT passenger jumps onto tracks, train on limited service

MANILA - (UPDATED) The Metro Rail Transit (MRT) on Tuesday partially suspended its operations after an unidentified person jumped onto the tracks at Guadalupe station. 

The MRT Control Center said the passenger jumped as a northbound train entered the station around 1:50 p.m. 

The male passenger did not sustain serious injuries but was rushed to a hospital, MRT director for operations Deo Manalo later told reporters. 

Passengers were unloaded from the train due to the incident. 

MRT authorities also temporarily limited train services from North Avenue to Shaw Boulevard stations and vice versa. 

Normal operations were restored at 2:53 p.m. 

Authorities have yet to review CCTV footage of the incident.
