CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - Three kilos of dried marijuana leaves amounting to P900,000 were seized at a skatepark in Macasandig village here, Saturday.
"The skatepark is being used as a front. Since last month, we've been receiving information about the rampant selling of marijuana in the area," said Senior Insp. Maricris Mulat.
The skatepark owner, who was not named, did not deny the allegations that marijuana is being sold in his property.
He said he is part of Kingdom Filipina Hacienda, a group that advocates for the use of marijuana for medical purposes.
"Cannabis is our long term advocacy. Real optimum health can be achieved if we use it. We should not deprive people [of] its benefits," the suspect said.
The suspect will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which classifies marijuana leaves, marijuana resin, and marijuana resin oil as illegal drugs.
