BANGUED, Abra – One man died while four others were injured after a 17-year-old boy attacked them with a knife during Abra province's Centennial Celebration on Monday night, police said Thursday.
The casualty was identified as Jesus Alfredo, 27, a CAFGU member from Tineg, Abra. The suspect hails from Calaba in Bangued town.
"Lumapit iyung suspek without any reason then inupakan, sinuntok yung isang biktima. Then may nagpacify sa kanya, di nila alam may weapon siya," said Senior Insp. Marcy Grace Marron.
Two of the victims were brought to the Abra Provincial Hospital.
"As a procedure, ire-refer yan (suspect) sa Bahay Pag-asa sa social welfare officer," Marron said.
The parents of the suspect refused to give a statement about the incident.
