MANILA - Senator Leila de Lima hit fellow senators who supposedly ridiculed and tried to discredit self-confessed Davao Death Squad (DDS) member Arturo Lascañas during a Senate probe.

De Lima said she found it odd that while Lascañas and another self-confessed DDS member were ridiculed, other convicts who participated in a House inquiry were "rewarded despite glaring inconsistencies in their testimonies."

The Senate committee on public closed its probe on Lascañas' claims after just one hearing.

Senator Panfilo Lacson, chair of the committee, explained that the panel decided to terminate the probe since it saw no point to continue.
