MANILA 0- Malacañang on Sunday dismissed the testimony of retired SPO3 Arthur Lascañas as "fabricated and unacceptable" after he flip-flopped on his claims on the alleged Davao Death Squad (DDS).

"Arthur Lascanas has proven himself to be a polluted source and perjured witness. We therefore regard his testimony now as fabricated and unacceptable," Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abellsa said in a statement.

Lascañas is scheduled to face the Senate on Monday to testify on the alleged DDS.

"First, self-confessed killer Mr. Arturo Lascanas denied the existence of the Davao Death Squad (DDS) during a Senate investigation hearing. Now, the same retired police officer would return to the Senate to expose the DDS," Abella added.

Lascañas now claims that the DDS killed people on orders of then-Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, a turn-around from his statement in a 2016 Senate hearing that the group was only a product of media hype.
