BACOLOD CITY -- Ten police officers in Bacolod City were relieved from their post after they were caught sleeping while on duty.
Bacolod City Police Office director, Senior Superintendent Jack Wanky, said 7 of the policemen were assigned in Police Station 10, and 4 were from Police Station 2.
They were caught sleeping on the job last Tuesday night during a spot inspection of the officer of the day who was visiting police stations all over the city.
The cops are detained at the Bacolod City Police headquarters pending investigation, where they will be made to explain why they were sleeping on the job.
Administrative sanctions will depend upon their written explanation.
Wanky said police officers are expected to remain alert while on duty especially now that the Bacolod City Police Office is on full alert following the termination of the peace talks between the government and communist rebels.
