Another batch of alleged rogue policemen arrived in Basilan on Saturday afternoon onboard a commercial ship, a move initiated by the Philippine National Police as it seeks to cleanse its ranks amid allegations that some officers are involved in unlawful activities.

The batch that arrived this weekend numbered 51 officers.

On February 21, 53 policemen showed up in an initial group for deployment on orders by President Rodrigo Duterte.

Upon their arrival at the Isabela city pier, the officers were immediately brought to the provincial police office for orientation. They also underwent drug testing and a medical exam.

According to Police Senior Supt. Nickson Muksan, PNP director for Basilan, the police officers in question will be assigned to different stations around the province and are expected to perform their duties.
