MANILA – The Department of Justice has summoned Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office board member Sandra Cam, her son and 5 others to the probe on the killing of Batuan, Masbate Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III.

Cam and her son Martino Martin Cam are facing a murder and frustrated murder complaint filed by Yuson’s wife, Lalaine, over Yuson’s death and the shooting of 2 of his aides.

Also included as respondents are acting Batuan, Masbate Mayor Nelson Cambaya and alleged gunmen Junel Gomez, Bradford Solis, Juanito De Luna and Rigor dela Cruz.

Unidentified gunmen shot dead Yuson on October 9, 2019 while eating breakfast in Sampaloc, Manila. Yuson was visiting his brother Charlie Yuson, Jr., a barangay captain in the area.

His 2 aides were injured in the incident.

The 4 gunmen were later identified through CCTV footage showing the plate number of the van they used as getaway vehicle.

Lalaine accused the Cams of being behind the killing. One of the gunmen, she claimed, was Cam’s former family driver.

Yuson’s son, Charmax Jan Yuson, defeated Martino Martin Cam, in the 2019 race for mayor.

Cam has denied the allegations.

The preliminary investigation is scheduled on March 9 and 16 at 2 p.m.
