President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday confirmed the date of his visit to Russia.
In a speech in Cebu, Duterte said he will fly to Russia on May 25 with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Central Command chief Army Major General Oscar Lactao.
"Sabi ng Russia, we have everything you need, just come here. So I'm going there with Lactao, May 25," Duterte said.
The President also said, in jest, that he looks forward to meeting beautiful Russians.
"Maganda iyung mga Russians," he added.
Duterte said he intends to schedule a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a leader he has previously praised.
