MANILA - A Manila court on Friday ordered the arrest of the wife of Batuan, Masbate town vice mayor Charlie Yuson III who was slain last year.
The Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 49's order, signed by Presiding Judge Daniel Villanueva, ordered the arrest of Lalaine Yuson for a libel charge filed by Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) board member Sandra Cam.
According to the arrest warrant, Cam's libel charge had probable cause.
Lalaine earlier tagged Cam as the mastermind of her husband's slay, an accusation the PCSO official denied.
Last week, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed murder and frustrated murder charges against Cam over the killing of Yuson.
Lalaine was present during the filing of the complaints.
Aside from Cam, six others were also charged for allegedly collaborating and conspiring with her for Yuson's murder.
The former vice mayor was having breakfast in Sampaloc, Manila when he was gunned down by suspects who were onboard a van.--With a report from Dexter Ganibe, ABS-CBN News
