BUTUAN CITY, Agusan Del Norte – The Sayak Aiport was reopened Tuesday evening hours after a Sky Jet plane overshot the runway allegedly due to bird strike.

The plane was removed from a grassy portion where the aircraft was stuck after it overshot the runway around 11 a.m.

The incident resulted in the cancellation of Tuesday flights to and from Siargao, but all stranded passengers have been accommodated in Wednesday flights, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.

CAAP said 2 dead birds were found at the runway, but authorities have yet to finalize if the incident was due to a bird strike.
