MANILA - Police on Tuesday arrested a yoga instructor suspected to be dealing illegal drugs in a raid in Taguig City.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Manila Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Reynaldo Alhambra, operatives of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency searched the suspect's condominium unit.
Authorities nabbed the 31-year-old drug suspect after suspected illegal drugs were found in her possession.
Some P100,000 worth of suspected cocaine, shabu and marijuana were seized from her unit at a high-end condominium building in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.
PNP-DEG legal officer lawyer Enrico Rigor said the suspect was the subject of month-long surveillance.
Rigor said the suspect was on PNP-DEG's list of alleged traffickers for party drugs supplying to high-end events, parties and concerts.
"She has been involved in the proliferation of drugs during events, nag-di-distribute siya ng drugs. Nag-conduct tayo ng surveillance sa drug syndicate na kinaaaniban niya," Rigor said.
"Nag-file pa ang evidence (section) namin during the course of surveillance. We believe she is directly linked up with the syndicate of Karen Bordador," Rigor said.
Surveillance photos showed the suspect riding a motorcycle and allegedly delivering suspected illegal drugs.
"She frequently rode a habal-habal and that habal-habal was used to deliver. During our surveillance, na picture-ran talaga na drugs are being delivered sa suspect," Rigor said.
The suspect denied the allegations. She said the evidence was planted.
"I would never have that in my house. I don't even know what that is. I have never seen that ever in my life. Would I be stupid enough? I'm working so hard as a single mom to my child tapos I'm gonna risk that? Engot ba ko?," the suspect said.
