A low pressure area (LPA) will dump occasionally heavy rains in large swaths of the country on Sunday, state weather bureau PAGASA said Sunday.
Residents in Eastern, Central and Western Visayas, Bicol, Caraga, Mimaropa and Northern Mindanao regions should be on the lookout for possible flash floods or landslides due to the LPA, said PAGASA meteorologist Ariel Rojas.
The LPA was spotted 205 kilometers west southwest of General Santos City, South Cotabato at 3 a.m. The weather disturbance is unlikely to intensify into a storm, he told DZMM.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with light rains will prevail in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, and Ilocos regions due to the northeast monsoon or amihan, said Rojas.
Metro Manila, where protesters are set to mark the 32nd anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution, will experience fair weather except for localized thunderstorms, he added.
