MANILA- Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa conducted a surprise inspection of 3 frontline service units of the police in Camp Crame on Thursday.
Dela Rosa checked on the Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agencies (PNP-SOSIA), the Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), and the Police Community Relations Group (PCRG).
The PNP-SOSIA regulates and supervises all security agencies while the FEO facilitates the processing of gun license in the country.
The PCRG, on the other hand, is tasked to promote closer police community relations.
Dela Rosa said complaints of slow processing of papers and proliferation of fixers have reached him.
"Haba ng pila ng mga nag-aapply tapos yung tao na in-charge doon ay nag i-snack, snack o nagme-makeup, makeup lang, Facebook or what so yan ang bantayan," he said.
(The line of applicants is long and the people who are supposed to be in charge are just eating snacks, doing their makeup, browsing Facebook or what. They should be monitored.)
Dela Rosa also warned the FEO of employees possibly in cahoots with fixers, and said he already tasked the PNP Counter Intelligence Task Group to conduct investigations on the complaints.
The PNP chief encouraged the employees to be more efficient and effective with their services to make things easier for the public.
"You make your clientele comfortable and satisfied, that's the bottom-line because you are the front services of the PNP," he said.
"Everything that you do is reflective of the discipline and the kind of people that we have in the PNP," he added.
