President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said he will stop swearing after allegedly warned by his deceased mother in a dream.

"Good boy na ako. Wala na kayong marinig na mura. So I had a dream two months ago and my mother appeared before me and said, “Hoy, g***. Tama na ‘yang pagmumura mo,” he said during a speech at the 20th founding anniversary of the Chinese Filipino Business Club.

Duterte is known for lacing his speeches with expletives.

His mother Soledad, a school teacher who was active in socio-civic activities in Davao City, died in 2012.
