Around 50 houses were torched after a fire hit 2 sitios in Barangay Quiot, Cebu City on Monday.
The fire started at Sitio Beltran and spread to Sitio Upper Yati in the said village.
According to Fire Chief Inspector Noel Nelson Ababon, Cebu City Fire Marshall, they received the alarm at 5:28 p.m., then raised it to Task Force Alpha at 5:58 p.m. The fire was declared under control at 6:57 p.m..
Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
Ababon said that they were having difficulties responding because the fire scene was in the inner part of Barangay Quiot.
They needed to connect 11 hoses just to reach the area.
BFP said that the damage may cost around P500,000.
