Alleged drug haul middleman Kenneth Dong enters not guilty plea

MANILA- Kenneth Dong, alleged middleman in the P6.4-billion "shabu" haul from China, pleaded not guilty to the drug charges against him on Monday.

The Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 46 begun hearing the drug importation case against Dong, also known as Don Yi Shen.

Dong, who was wearing a bullet-proof vest, was escorted by National Bureau of Investigation agents to the hearing.

The court also scheduled the pre-trial of the case on Tuesday.

Dong was arrested by NBI agents earlier this month in Katarungan Village in Muntinlupa City. He is accused of being the facilitator of over 600 kilos of "shabu" in the Philippines in May 2017.

After the arraignment, Dong was also escorted back to the NBI detention facility.

Other personalities linked to the drug haul that remain at large are
Richard Tan, Li Guang Feng alyas Manny Li, Tee Jay Marcellana, Chen I-Min, Jhu Ming Jhun and Chen Rong Juan .
