MANILA - Peter Joemel Advincula alias Bikoy on Monday posted P10,000 bail for a conspiracy to commit sedition charge that the justice department filed against him for linking President Rodrigo Duterte and his family to the illegal drug trade.
The complaint filed at the Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court alleged that Advincula, along with former Sen. Antonio Trillanes and 8 others are involved in “circulating malicious and scurrilous libels,” “to inflict an act of hate" against President Duterte.
Trillanes and 2 others have yet to post bail.
Lawyer Larry Gadon, who acts as Advincula's legal adviser, said their camp is considering hiring security for Bikoy's safety.
"Bikoy" previously claimed that he used to keep financial records for the drug syndicate that allegedly had dealings with the Duterte family.
He initially claimed that he was not paid by the opposition, only to flip-flop weeks later to link the Liberal Party and other figures to the viral videos.
