MAYNILA — Nanindigan ang isang kinatawan ng National Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (NFARMC) na walang dahilan para mag-angkat ang Department of Agriculture (DA) ng tone-toneladang isda.

May 15 miyembro mula sa fisheries sector at gobyerno ang NFARMC.
    
Ani NFARMC representative at Pangingisda Natin Gawing Tama Network co-convenor Dennis Calvan, sapat ang suplay ng isda ngayong unang quarter ng taon. 

Katunayan, may 45,651 metric tons pang suplay ng isda na mula pa sa inangkat noong last quarter ng 2021, at 22,000 metric tons dito ay nasa cold storage facility pa. 
    
May 11,000 metric tons pa rin ang galing sa unang batch ng mga inimport bukod pa sa 12,000 metric tons na nasa biyahe na at parating pa lang sa bansa.
    
Dagdag pa ni Calvan, patapos na rin ang closed fishing season.

"Ibig sabihin, sasabay po yung importasyon sa pagbubukas ng mga lugar-pangisdaan sa atin. So sa tingin po namin, may direktang epekto po mga capture fisheries natin," ani Calvan.
