MANILA - Vice President Leni Robredo on Friday gave away roses to employees of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in Naga City and Quezon City, continuing a Valentine’s Day tradition started by her late husband Jesse Robredo.

In photos released by the OVP, Robredo handed out white and red long-stemmed roses to the employees.

According to the OVP, the late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo started giving out roses at the Naga City Hall when he was town mayor.

Jesse Robredo, who was a Naga City mayor for 19 years before joining the cabinet of former president Benigno Aquino III, was killed in a plane crash in 2012.
