Magnitude 4.0 quake strikes off Southern Leyte

MANILA - A 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Southern Leyte on Thursday evening, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The tectonic tremor struck at 9:25 p.m. approximately 11 kilometers southwest of Sigalo town with a depth of 2 km.

Instrumental Intensity I was felt at Palo, Leyte.

Phivolcs said damage to structure and aftershocks are not expected.
