The Philippine National Police Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) will deploy more teams to inspect police offices and stations nationwide.

PNP-IAS Deputy Inspector General Police Director Leo Angelo Leuterio said they have been conducting inspections but want to add manpower to ensure that the police are doing their job well.

Leuterio also said they inspect stations and have reprimanded male cops sporting long hair.

He said they relieved members of a maritime group detachment in one of their inspections.

“We cause the relief of one detachment of maritime group for sleeping at post and then drinking and for not keeping their outpost clean... and they are facing cases right now,” Leuterio reported.

PNP IAS Inspector General Alfegar Triambulo has ordered the additional teams to do the inspection.

“We go to the numbers ay kokonti lang ito, the greater number are really public servants na totoo,” Leuterio said.

Those who were caught sleeping on the job or negligent during shift have the opportunity to explain themselves.
