Work in government offices in Tacloban has been suspended due to moderate to heavy downpour that caused floods in parts of the city.

Mayor Cristina Romualdez has issued Executive Order ‎2018-02-097 suspending work in government offices within Tacloban.

Flooding in National Road in the area of Barangay Nula Tula caused traffic to stall. Some commuters were also stranded while others decided to wade in floodwaters.

As of 8 a.m., weather bureau PAGASA said tropical depression Basyang is moving toward southern Palawan where it is expected to bring scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains in the next 24 hours over the province and Western Visayas.

Scattered light to moderate with at times heavy rain is also expected over the rest of Visayas, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao and Caraga.

Basyang is packing maximum winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 60 kph. It is moving west southwest at 26 kph.

Storm signal No. 1 is still hoisted over Palawan, including Calamaian and Cuyo groups of Islands.
