MANILA - More than 300 police officers from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be reassigned to the Southern Command, Police Director Oscar D. Albayalde said Monday.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier ordered the transfer of erring cops to Mindanao.

According to a statement from the NCRPO, the 311 rogue cops are composed of officers with ranks ranging from Police Officer 1 to Superintendent.

The cops have existing administrative and criminal cases, including robbery, extortion, drug protection, illegal drug use and carnapping, among others, according to Albayalde.

"We are very firm on our stand on our Internal Cleansing Program. Our Internal Cleansing would transcend from these offenses to erring cops," he said, emphasizing the need to send a stern warning to erring personnel.

Albayalde ordered all district directors to strictly implement the PNP's internal cleansing program.

"Any breach of discipline should be dealt with accordingly," he said.
