MANILA - The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation moved the activities related to the Panagbenga Festival to next month as a measure to prevent the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus acute respiratory disease (2019-nCoV ARD).

The foundation made the decision after a meeting on Friday.

The festival's opening parade, which was supposed to be held last Feb. 1, was moved to March 21.

The Street Dance Parade was moved to March 28 and the Grand Float Parade will be held on March 29.

Meanwhile, the Cordillera Administrative Regional Athletic Association (CARAA) athletic meet will be held on March 24.

The local government of Baguio City previously canceled the opening parade of the flower festival a day after the Department of Health confirmed the country's first 2019-nCoV ARD case.

As of Sunday, there are 284 patients being investigated for the novel coronavirus in the Philippines.

This number includes the 3 confirmed cases of 2019-nCoV ARD infection.
