MANILA - The camp of former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. went to the office of Vice President Leni Robredo's lawyers in Ortigas on Wednesday to deliver a joint motion to withdraw all their pending motions in relation to the former's electoral protest.
The joint motion was signed on Tuesday by Marcos, who lost to Robredo in the 2016 vice presidential race, in a bid to expedite his poll protest.
The son and namesake of the late dictator had earlier challenged Robredo's camp to sign the joint motion so they can proceed with the recount.
Robredo's counsel, Romulo Macalintal, earlier accepted Marcos' challenge and agreed to meet Wednesday morning in a restaurant in Manila to sign the joint motion.
Claiming he was cheated, Marcos challenged Robredo's May 2016 victory before the Supreme Court sitting as Presidential Electoral Tribunal.
