MANILA- President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday took a swipe anew at his youngest son, Sebastian "Baste" Duterte, this time for allegedly not giving enough financial support to his children.
The elder Duterte said he just does not want to ruin his son’s reputation but admitted that he is having trouble supporting his son and grandchildren.
“Ako, totoo ang sweldo ko P130,000 a month, dalawa ang pamilya ko. Hirap ako,” Duterte said.
“Kagaya nito ni Baste, yung si lover boy? Ayoko lang siraan baka magalit, ako ang nag-ano… Some are making good si [Mayor] Inday, si [Vice Mayor] Paolo. Itong si Baste, pati ang ibang apo ko... ako ang…,” Duterte added.
The President reiterated anew how he feels sad for his grandchildren who hardly see their father, Baste.
“Yang anak kong si Baste na tatay, P***** I**** Baste yan asan ka?” he added.
Baste has a 2-year-old son, Yair, with Davao-based model, Kate Necesario. He also has a daughter with an ex-girlfriend.
Duterte admitted taking advantage of media's coverage to reach out to his son, who usually does not answer calls from him.
“Tanungin ko sa mga security, tawagan mo si Baste [saasabihin], Sir 'di sumasagot.”
“Love niya si Ellen,” he added, an apparent reference to Baste’s old flame, actress Ellen Adarna.
Baste has previously responded to his father’s rants and said he really loves being the "favorite" child in the family.
In Bisaya, he reminded his father that he told him last December that he and Adarna had already broken up. "Chill lang, Pa," he wrote.
