CEBU CITY - The Supreme Court and the local government of Cebu City signed a memorandum of agreement for the construction of a judicial complex at Cebu South Road Properties Wednesday.
Present during the signing were Cebu City Mayor Tommy Osmeña and Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin.
The Cebu City government donated a 1.5-hectare property for the construction of the judicial complex.
According to Court Administrator Midas Marquez, the judicial complex will house the trial courts of Cebu City, the Court of Appeals and a training center for judges in the Visayas.
The Supreme Court allocated a P1 billion budget for the construction of the judicial complex.
Once the title of the lot has been transferred to the Supreme Court, they will immediately start the construction of the structure, which is expected to completed after 3 to 5 years.
