MANILA - (UPDATED) A Philippine Airlines (PAL) aircraft stalled on the runway at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 Tuesday night.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said Flight PR353 from Macau arrived in Manila at 6:38 p.m.

The tires of the Airbus 321 aircraft, however, hit an uneven taxiway surface and bogged down, she added.

A tow truck was dispatched promptly and removed the plane in less than an hour. All crew members and 142 passengers on board were safe.

"We thank all affected passengers for their patience and understanding and apologize for the resulting inconvenience," Villaluna said.

Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal confirmed the incident to ABS-CBN News. He said the incident delayed other flights while some 6 commercial flights were diverted to Clark International Airport.
