MANILA - Government forces on Tuesday killed the companion of a suspect behind the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cathedral bombings in Jolo, Sulu, the military said.
Joint military and police forces launched a raid in Barangay Latih, Patikul, Sulu Tuesday afternoon, targetting alias Kamah.
He escaped from the raid but his companion, identified as Ommal Osup, was killed by government troops, according to Joint Task Force Sulu.
Kamah belongs to the faction of the militant group called "Ajang-Ajang," which is notorious for kidnapping and extortion activities in the province.
Seized during the raid were a .45 pistol, sniper scope, 2 cellphones, and a motorcycle.
