QUEZON CITY- Jinky Sta. Isabel, the wife of Senior Police Officer 3 Ricky Sta. Isabel, denied on Friday that her husband is being represented by a certain Atty. Alejandro Jose Pallugna.

In a press briefing at the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) in Quezon City, Jinky said she and her husband did not sign any papers appointing Pallugna as their lawyer.

“To the public, ang official po na nagre-represent sa husband ko ay Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) sa pangunguna po ni chief Persida Acosta at wala nang iba,” Jinky said.

SPO3 Sta. Isabel, along with several others, are accused of kidnapping South Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo in his home in Angeles City on October 18, 2016 under the guise of an anti-drug operation.

A member of the group that took Jee accused SPO3 Sta. Isabel of strangling the South Korean inside Camp Crame and bringing his remains to a funeral parlor owned by a former police officer.

SPO3 Sta. Isabel has denied killing Jee.

Jinky, meanwhile, also said that she did not give Pallugna permission to grant interviews to the media regarding her husband’s case.

“At kung nagpapa-interview man po siya eh wala po akong pinapahintulot na magpapa-interview siya dahil hindi po namin siya lawyer,” Jinky said.

Pallugna has previously granted interviews to the media as SPO3 Sta. Isabel's lawyer.

The PAO represented SPO3 Sta. Isabel in Thursday's Senate hearing on alleged "tokhang for ransom" cases.
