MANILA - The primary suspect in the abduction and murder of South Korean trader Jee Ick Joo denied Thursday that he withdrew money from the victim's ATM account.

SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel told senators that he was not the man caught on CCTV withdrawing from Jee's ATM.

"Hindi po, hindi po ako iyan," he said at a Senate hearing.

A presentation by the Philippine National Police, citing Jee's wife Choi Kyung Jin, said 4 withdrawals totaling P80,000 were made with the BPI master card of the victim on the night of October 18, just hours after he was abducted from their home in Pampanga.

Jee’s kasambahay Marisa Morquicho, who was abducted with the businessman, positively identified Sta. Isabel as the man in the CCTV footage making cash withdrawals.

Morquicho said Sta. Isabel was wearing the same clothes when he abducted them and when he supposedly got cash from the Korean's ATM account.
