MANILA - Former president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III on Wednesday commemorated the 84th birthday of his mother, former president Corazon "Cory" Aquino.
Aquino and some of his siblings went to Cory's flower-filled tomb at the Manila Memorial Park.
Aquino, who ended his presidency in 2016, was seen wearing a yellow short-sleeved polo as he greeted other guests, most of whom were also sporting the iconic color associated with Cory during the EDSA People Power Revolution of 1986.
Liberal Party stalwarts, including Vice President Leni Robredo, were also seen at the cemetery, attending a holy mass for Cory.
Among those who sent flowers were former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, and members of the Villar family including Senator Cynthia Villar and Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar.
Aquino, who was also the first female president in Asia, died in 2009 at the age of 76 after battling colon cancer.
