MANILA - The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) said Wednesday it will join the investigation on the ambush of San Fernando, Cebu Mayor Lakambini Reluya.
Reluya and two security aides were wounded, while her husband Ricardo and 2 others died on the spot in Talisay City on Tuesday evening.
CIDG Director Chief Supt. Amador Corpus said they have started collecting evidence.
“As instructed by the Chief PNP, I was directed to direct my units and provide investigative report to the local stations and Cebu regarding sa nangyari doon sa Talisay, victimizing local officials from San Fernando, Cebu,” Corpus said.
CIDG region 7 and CIDG main will go full force for the immediate resolution of the case.
“My team from the province and from the region are conducting follow up investigation in support to the investigation being conducted by PRO7 and the local police stations. We’ll try to one by one makumpleto natin ang mga firearms that were used during the incident,” Corpus said.
