MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed political strategist and self-proclaimed civic leader Pastor “Boy” Saycon and businessman Christopher Carrion as members of the EDSA People Power Commission.
Saycon and Carrion will be 2 of the four members of the commission, the agency tasked to plan, organize, and implement the annual commemoration of the 1986 EDSA Revolution.
Saycon, secretary-general of the Council for Philippine Affairs, earlier accused former president Benigno Aquino III of corruption.
Aquino is the son of the late democracy icon Corazon Aquino, one of the central figures of the bloodless revolt.
Saycon supported Aquino during the latter's successful presidential bid back in 2010.
He made headlines in 2016 after presenting individuals who supposedly witnessed how votes were stolen from Duterte and defeated vice presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos during the May elections.
